FreePBX distributed device state

Hi Guys,

I have 4 AsteriskNOW (v3) servers. I would like to enable device states from all the servers. I have snom devices. They will gladly send a SUBSCRIBE request to Asterisk on a remote system. The problem is that Asterisk replies with a 404. I am guessing this is because the device is not authenticated. Is there a way I can get FreePBX to allow this ?

I did some digging and found that adding “from-internal” to “from-sip-external” makes this work - I am very very sure that this is not the ideal way of doing things.
