Freepbx Contact Rewrite update major issue

So you’re saying that when Rewrite Contact is set to Yes the phone doesn’t register? And the same when its set to No?

after the updates, it changes all extensions from yes to no, breaking the connection to the PBX. You have to touch every phone and set back to yes after the update.

What updates?

Module updates

Well this sounds like a bug that should be opened in the issue tracker.

as of yesterday it was still changing it to NO and make it local IP which is wrong

You’re saying it’s changing the setting on existing extensions?

That is what he is claiming.

But he has never bothered to provide detail about which module is supposedly doing this.

That’s because I have no idea which one is doing it

This was an issue, but fix was published and is now in stable:
https://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-21031

I’m not aware of current issues here, it might be helpful to know what versions of core where installed when. @sentinelace can you provide output of:

grep "Module: core Updated" /var/log/asterisk/freepbx.log*

My FreePBX 14 system is hosted on a VPS and remote phones are all behind NAT. I upgrade regularly, and have not had a problem. Assuming your issue is core as noted in the above linked thread, I am well beyond that version and my system never had existing extensions affected.

Edit: my upgrade history for reference

as stated above. It’s no longer an issue. They fixed it

Did you just now update the module?

it was broke yesterday but today it’s not. No clue LOL

Well you raised (what might be / might have been) a very serious issue, now it just went away “LOL” - it would be good of you to dig in and figure out what happened and how it was resolved for the sake of others here who are trying to help.
