Hello we just replaced our old FreePBX server with a FreePBX appliance running FreePBX 2.11.0.38. We had some bumps in the road but mostly I would say it has been a success. We have one issue I was hoping to get some help with. I have it reported from what seems to be all users, that when they use *98 or *97 they get the comedian mail message, they enter their ext number and password all works but then it runs them though the setup. Asking them to record their name and enter a new password two times. Which would be fine if it did not do that every time they checked your voice mail.
They have have told me that this just started that it was not an issue when we first installed the new server. Any thoughts?
check that in /etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf , that the password was actually updated.
for EXT. Also check that the greetings have been recorded successfully :-
ls -l ls -l /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/EXT/{busy,greet,unavail}.*
Thanks for the fast response but I think I found the fix. Looking though the forums I found someone that suggested that the issue was caused by the ext and the password being the same. Tested that on our system and that seems to work fine if I set the password to something other then the ext number
