Trixbox is a Linux distribution that includes FreePBX, Asterisk, etc. in a turn-key configuration, so that’s up to the Trixbox people to decide if they are going to use Asterisk or OpenPBX in their distribution.
OpenPBX is likely going to have a name change anyhow, because there seem to be some potential trademark issues, and they want to take care of that proactively.
If you look at the roadmap on this site you will see that they plan to have v3.0 of FreePBX support Asterisk AND OpenPBX. According to the roadmap the next version is v2.3 followed by v3.0 so it’s a ways out.
