FreePBX® 2.2.3 Maintenance Release

While the 2.3.0 Beta program is going strong, it has flushed out a handful of bugs in the 2.2 branch and the fixes have been back ported to create this FreePBX 2.2.3 maintenance release. Bugs that were isolated to specific modules have already been back-ported and published.

Most of the fixes in 2.2.3 are somewhat minor and details can be found in the CHANGES changelog summary that is included with the release. Here is a digest version:
  • bug 2025 - alert box does not let you edit an extension with a directdid in it. This bug was introduced in FreePBX 2.2.2.
  • bug 1841 - don't strip '+' from the directdid
  • Several issues with the online version number dependency checking
And then a handful of other minor changes.

Upgrading:

The official upgrade procedure currently supported by the FreePBX® project is to download the tarball from our mirror (or sourceforge) and then run the install_amp program to update your system. Subsequent module updates can be obtained through the normal online Module Admin process. This is the only process tested and verified by the project. Following is an example of doing a supported update (you must be logged in as root to perform the update): cd /usr/src/ wget http://mirror.freepbx.org/freepbx-2.2.3.tar.gz tar -zxvf freepbx-2.2.3.tar.gz cd freepbx-2.2.3 ./install_ampWe strive to be extremely responsive to any issues that are encountered when this process is used. That's it for now, we'll keep it short and be back soon with an update on the FreePBX 2.3.0 Beta2 that is about to come out.
