I am looking for a free and compatible software phone that works with free pbx version 2.8.1.4.
I am running windows XP
I have already tried: 3cx, ninja lite, Zoiper communicator, and sjphone
What did you not like with those? x-lite is the only one you missed.
they are either not compatible or require me to put credit card information.
I also had another question I finished restoring a server in a different location that is also has another one in production. Do you think it is a coincidence that the production server went down while i was doing another restore at another location?

3CX works fine with Asterisk/FreePBX and is free.
If you need g.729 CODEC then you have to pay, it’s licensed technology.
Out of curiosity, why does it have to be free? If something does exactly what you want what is the objection to paying for it? I am trying to understand the mindset, Schmooze publishes commercial modules and I have seen users spend hours hacking instead of $40.00 on a module. I don’t get it.
Last time I looked, Zoiper Free didn’t require any Credit Card info, and works fine with Asterisk.
