Find Me / Follow Me not working

Ah, ok.

So - we have two separate accounts with Birch communications. They are supposed to be completely separate but in the past I have gotten the impression they are not.

What is odd, is that virtual extensions with FM/FM work just fine from the other office to here. Both are birch accounts, both run FreePBX. Also, I can call the local number (that the virtual extension uses) and get through just fine.

I know this is not part of something you guys can support, but any tips with how to talk to them about this? Why it works from Office A to Office B, but not Office B to Office A?

Contact them with exact date/time, destination number and bearing callerid of xxx. They should be able to see the call attempt and tell you why it was rejected.

Thank you so much for the help. Administrating these PBX’s is not in my job description. The joys of working in a small company that doesn’t want to spring for phone vendors or even an IT department.

Ok guys- My telephone provider told me to run a PCAP and send it to them. However, they have appalling customer service and I currently have multiple open tickets with them, and thus don’t want to confuse things.

I did a PCAP and used Wireshark to analyze it (screens attached)

304 is the virtual extension with FM. 201 is me. 3552424 is the local number, and 4 is the prefix. Dialing 43552424 connects just fine.

Any thoughts? The config in the follow me has ‘43552424#’ in the follow me list.

Although, I see in the ‘graph’ or call flow that when it attempts to call, the first response is 401 Unauthorized.

Could this be an outbound route or trunk issue? It appears that it isn’t using my outbound route to make the call.

I have one trunk that all prefix’s set at the outbound route use. this is identical to the setup I have at the other office (where this works)

You might find sngrep is better than pcap at separating all your calls into individual ‘units’ , but adding “sip debug” will also add to your diagnostics. The initial 401 is to be expected to ensure better security, the next request woulkd pass muster if all your endpoints are working and authorized.
