FaxPro Call dropped prematurely

one of our users are not able to send a fax to a certain number, but when using regular fax or even EFax the fax goes through. We get an unknown error or call has dropped prematurely. We have the retries set to 3 and get the message each time. When we did research for a fix we found to add the outbound route number to the Global Prefix in the fax configuration, but then none of the faxes would go through. We would get an error message Unknown error (Originate failed) so we removed the Global Prefix, and messages started to go through, but still get this call dropped prematurely.

FAXing to that number from my FAX-Pro fails also - Calling it from a Phone gives you voicemail after quite a few rings.

If you can call those people, find out what Carrier that number is connected to - My guess is they are doing something weird and/or have something wonky in their setup that is making FAXes fail - worst case, do a Packet Capture on your box and look at that with Wireshark - that will tell you exactly what is wrong.

Thank you good to know. For the users only 60% of the faxes are going through. That was just a little snapshot of what the faxes that are having issues. They’re having trouble accepting that, and we have tried several attempts to troubleshoot.

Something is REALLY wrong with your Carrier - with FAXPro, we are 100% in and out - if you are having that many problems, something is wrong upstream - Who are you using?

We are using Flowroute as our SIP Provider.

Could it be the baud rate? Right now we have the min and max set at the default range 9600 and 14400.

No, those are correct - Check to see if Flowrate supports T.38 - if they do, make sure it is enabled - if they don’t, make sure it is disabled everywhere.

T.38 will be much more reliable, but only if your carrier supports it.
