Fax Ring Time

Is there a way to control how long the fax module will ring when dialing out before disconnecting? I can successfully send faxes to some numbers, but on other numbers I consistently receive “The call dropped prematurely”. When I manually call the different fax numbers, the first noticeable distinction is the time it takes for the recipient fax to pick up. When the receiving fax line picks up immediately, my faxes complete successfully. If the recipient fax number has several rings before ever answering the line, my faxes fail with the above referenced error. I wish to test extending the ring count for sending faxes. Can this be done?
