Not sure where to post this but is there some hardware that’s easily set up to have a light turn on to notify people that the person at the desk is on their phone (Useful when they are wearing a headset and it’s not readily apparent.)
I’m not sure if it must directly interface with the phone, or if I can just interface it with the asterisk system.
I’m using Snom 821 phones, if that makes a difference.

These are also supported in the Commercial EPM.
This item won’t work without some type of device that provides a dry contact closure. Perhaps there are some SIP phones that that monitor an off hook condition and provide the requisite logic output, but I don’t know of any right off.

could have sworn that was a SIP device. We have one in the trade show booth.
