Endpoint manager and FreePBX (Cisco 7070)

So, I thought it was about time to move from Trixbox to a lighter GUI for asterisk and a friend recommended FreePBX as a great alternative. The only issue I am having is with the configuration of our Cisco 7970 phones. It is my belief that Endpoint should configure these handsets in a similar fashion to trixbox, so I went here http://www.the159.com/endpointman/ and installed endpoint. Luckly it is a straight switch and none of the phones need to be re tftp’ed with new settings as the Ip will remain the same and so will the extensions and passwords. When I configure endpoint, the Cisco 7970 is not on the default list for configuration as per suggested by this thread http://www.freepbx.org/forum/freepbx/installation/cisco-7970-xml-config . Any Ideas on how to configure?
Much love,
Peter

Selecting the 7960 will work the same

Huh? The 7970 uses an XML config the 7960 uses a flat config. The boot file structure is different also.

Ok. That’s nice. I’m still waiting on full documentation on the Cisco 79xx so mostly I dont know what I’m talking about in regards to that series. Personally the 79xx series is better suited for Cisco call manager and should never be used on asterisk. Ever

That doesn’t stop people from using them.

Actually talk to Robert, I think he already has all the templates done for you. We can also get you out an XML phone.

Later!
