DPMA vs EPM

Hi All,

We have a customer on a old Freepbx server with DPMA managing D40 & D50 phones. I’ve setup a new Freepbx distro and licensed EPM as they have some un-managed Aastra phones I was hoping to configure from the server.

Is EPM now the preferred method for managing these Digium phones? I would prefer not to use DPMA if EPM can do it.

Thank you,

Using EPM without DPMA will work fine on those phones. Apps will be done using XML apps as opposed to the native DPMA apps programmed into the phones, so the user experience will be slightly different when using apps using DPMA. You need to config the phone with an http(s) provisioning URL in the same way you provision any sip device.
