…And AFAIK, there’s a 2 user free 1 year trial. Unless things changed recently.

I’ve not found it to be super reliable yet on LTE while traveling.

It has been quite reliable being at a single location, on WiFi, then moving to another location on WiFi.

Over other softphones?

From my experience testing softphone apps on LTE, once the connection was stable it didn’t really make a difference between the apps other than sometimes playing with the codecs for better quality.

I am wondering what Google Voice is using, their voice calls works better than any app when having a slow connection. Also surprisingly, WhatsApp voice calls is lately also doing quite good with low connections.

I test the latest Android version of Zulu and encountered the following problems:

1.If app closed in the background, incoming calls won’t ringing and just show a missed call notification.
2.It couldn’t handle network change (WiFi–>LTE or LTE–>WiFi) during calls and it will be hang up.

Don’t have above problems with “Groundwire” or “Acrobits” soft phones.

Zulu version: 1.1.0.357
FreePBX version: 14.0.13.29
Android version: 10
Phone model: Galaxy S10e

Vanilla Google Voice (not Meet or Hangouts) forwards calls to your mobile as regular voice calls; no VoIP app or mobile data is involved. When network connectivity is greatly impaired, voice calls almost always perform better.

Zulu using opus codec.

Have you tried the Google Voice App in a low connection?
