DNS?-How do I make a "Friendly Name" for the User Portal

I have a client running Windows Server 2003. I am not very knowledgeable about DNS servers. He has one running on the 2003 server. What can I do so the end users on FreePBX can put a friendly name in IE/Chrome/Mozilla (pbx or pbx.company.com) when they are in the office to get to the User Portal? There is no way they will remember 192.168.1.99 for example. Thanks!

Go to your Active Directory Server, and then select DNS. In there is your domain, and when you expand that, you can right click on it and add an A Record. A is ‘Address’.

If you don’t know how to do that, don’t touch it, and find someone who does know active directory. If you add the wrong thing you can break everything :sunglasses:
