Disabling line buttons in EPM

Hi. I am setting up SPA514G phones, one of which has two SPA500S expansion modules. In EPM, when I leave the line key parameters blank for the SPA514G, the buttons do not disable, and the button lights continue to glow green. For the SPA500S module, when I leave the line key fields blank, the button lights go off. Is there a method that I can use to disable the buttons on the SPA514G without having to add lines to the basefile?
