Disable "unavailable" voicemail option

Hi guys,

We’ve been using FreePBX for a few years in our business (500+employees) and for as long as I can remember, we are struggling with employees not recording their “unavailable” greeting for their voicemail.

Out of curiosity, is there any way to disable the “unavailable” greeting for everyone. That way, they only have to record their name and busy greeting.

I searched the forum before posting but can’t find anything.

each mailbox rooted at ‘/var/spool/asterisk/<context>/nnnn’ (and mostly the context will be ‘default’)

Understand that nothing exists at nnnn until it is ‘used’

The user is initially polled for username , busy and unavailable announcement recordings.

After the fact you can use

soxi /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/nnnn/*

to get the metadata of the recordings.

If any user has a ‘soxi -d unavail.wav’ less than a reasonable length, as the admin replace it with a more cognizant version.
