Using PBXACT I would like to have a different ring tone. I think its doable using endpoint manager for Sangoma phones but cant figure it our for Polycom VVX phones.
Differentiate between ring group calls and internal calls for Polycom
Every phone model manage ring tones differently, so you’ll have to specify the ring tone on the incoming trunk (or inbound route) so that the phone picks up one of the ones it recognizes (in Asterisk, it’s call “Alert Info”). The Alert Info you pick will have to match one of the Alert Choices in the VVX.
If you set one Alert Info for your Inbounds and another for your “regular” phones, you should be pretty close to getting what you’re asking for.
