I have two FreePBX systems tied together by a basic SIP trunk. Is there a way to dial directly to the voicemail of an extension on the remote/peer system?
you have to add trunk to allow the pbx to access the system and then dial the feature code to access the removed extension and voicemail.
If the tieline trunk context is from-internal then dialing *{exten} will do that.
Thanks, that worked. The trunk was already set up to use the from-internal context, so all I had to do was put a route in for *2xxx to that tie trunk.
