DHCP server installation on Asterisk or external?

Hi All,

When setting up a DHCP server, is it ok to use the Asterisk server/CentOS running FreePBX or should the IP addresses be leased from another source/server/router?

If using my Asterisk server is fine, can I use the 1 port on my server (in my case eth0) for all DHCP,TFTP and phone traffic on the same subnet?

Any further info would be very much appreciated!

Sure, just remember that FreePBX is about the phones.

When I set up SCCP drivers, I always use the DHCP and TFTP servers from the same host. Adding a few workstations to the mix isn’t going to hurt you.
