Is there a way to retrieve a deleted voicemail?
If not, I would like to suggest this as an option. So that after pressing ‘7’ to delete a message it would be sent to a deleted items folder for a defined period of time before being removed from the system

You can press 7 again to undelete it, before you hang up. Don’t know of any method to put them in a trash folder.
That’s really an Asterisk discussion at this point, the entire Voicemail system is currently controlled by Asterisk.
