Debuging Calls which don't connect, Sequence With Zulu Items question

We are experiencing frequent calls to our DAHDI FXO which, when answered, the line is dead.
Upon investigating call sequence, I find a number of Zulu items which I do not understand. These do not seem to appear in our SIP calls. Are these correct and what is their function?

Do you have Zulu licensed and enabled?

I did the trial (definitely too early) which has expired. I disabled Zulu but no change.
I then decided to go to a backup image from April and the Zulu items seem to have not reappeared.

My numerious rings on the DAHDI line before pickup also have vanished.

My remaining problem is the transfer to IVR on calls via DAHDI are not working. The call log shows the transfer but the caller continues to hear rings for some length of time then silence. The IVR works correctly on calls via my SIP service with the same setup.
