When I set up a new dahdi extension I set the channel to 2 and when I click submit it tells me: “Please enter the channel for this device” no mater how many times I select channel 2 it tells me the same thing. channel 2 is my only option.

If you really want to remove this the easiest way I have found is:
Use the Zap with dahdi or…
open the functions.php file and remove the validation, that should work the error around.
When I did this, I used “other (custom) device” and then put dahdi/g1/1234 in the “dial” field.
Not sure if this is good or bad practice, but it has worked well for me.
