D40,50 and 70 phones with VPN

Am I correct in my understanding that the older D40,50 and 70 digium phones cannot connect with the built in OpenVPN on FreePBX Distro? Or was this feature added via firmware?

I spoke with a Sangoma sales rep a couple of months ago who told me that it is not possible. I don’t recall seeing an announcement that something has changed.

Verily, we do not provide an OpenVPN client feature/option on those older models.
