Connecting to AD via 636

Trying to create a directory under user management FPBX 14. While the server connects internally, our security guy wants me to make sure it connects securely. I set up the server and can connect via 389 without issue. When I connect to 636, however, I get “can’t contact LDAP server”. I’ve tried to install the root cert for the domain this machine is on, but so far I’m unable to get my server trusted on the network.

I’ve been looking around at some way to make this easier. The certificate management section on freepbx seems to be for setting the server certificates, not for importing root authorities.

I tried logging in and installing the ca certificates package, and running update-ca-trust following some tutorials, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Any advice?
