I just installed a copy of FreePBX 17 and am unable to connect into the new server via WinSCP for file transfer. My previous version 16 had no issues with this, and when I try to make modifications, it returns the error message “Access Denied” despite me using the default sangoma username and pw
That shows a successful connection to an account that was incompatible with creating the specified directory. It looks like a file permission problem, not an FTP/WinSCP one. I’d expect the same error with the same account logged in locally.
While this might not necessarily be best practices, I sometimes utilize WinSCP, and initially connect to my FreePBX v17 instance by authenticating as a non-root user. But once connected I have this saved connection configured to then continue the session using sudo. Here is a screen shot of where I configured this.
I was trying to SFTP and download sound files with the sangoma account, and no matter what I did it refused to work. change passwords, etc, nothing worked. I created a new user account and it worked immediately. I am suspect the default sangoma account has sftp disabled, or at least it did on the first versions we installed about a year ago. Try setting up a new user account just for accessing sftp and I bet it works.
