I’m trying to setup a sort of conference bridge lobby where callers can dial in, enter their conference number and be added to that conference. I’ve setup an IVR that does this, but only by manually adding each conference number as a specific destination. I’d like to be able to have the IVR accept any 4 digit conference number, and match it against existing conferences. In other words, is there a way to have a variable used as a destination for an IVR?
yes you could do that with custom dial-plan , check out How to get Inputs from IVR freepbx?
the commercial module Conferences Pro also enables this functionality with the addition of a conference ivr thats selectable just as any other destination in freepbx; it also does a few other things like auto creation and linking of individual conferences managed by userman permissions and making them avail on said IVR
