Changes to /etc/asterisk/sip.con

My SIP trunker’s instructions for FreePBX say to edit my /etc/asterisk/sip.conf.

When I look at /etc/asterisk/sip.conf, it says something along the lines of “do not edit this file, there are other ways to accomplish whatever you’re doing.”

LOL. I have a feeling my SIP trunker’s instructions are dated.

These are the lines the trunker wants modified/added to sip.conf:

context=from-pstn
srvlookup=yes
session-timers=refuse
session-expires=180
session-minse=90
session-refresher=uas

What would be the best way to get this done?

TIA for any help.

The context is added in the FreePBX trunk you setup.

The other settings can be modified using the SIP settings module.

Thank you. I was able to use your instructions to finish-up the Callcentric config.
