Chan_PJSIP Driver Disabled?

Something "weird’ happened to my installation where I had a “Reload failed because retrieve_conf encountered an error: 1” message. I ran the module admin from the CLI and fwconsole reload and that problem went away.

However, now the PJSip tab is missing from SIP Settings and the Asterisk Info report no longer has Chan_PJSip Info listed there. All my PJSip extensions and trunks are still there, but the ability to add new PJSip extenions is gone. Is PJSip disabled? How do I re-enable it?

Solved! There were two errors that were causing the problem:

  1. Settings\Advanced Settings\SIP Channel Driver (for some reason) reset and needed to be changed back to “both”
  2. The DNS entries weren’t saving and were being overwritten so that there was no 127.0.0.1 nameserver in the list. I had to manually edit /etc/resolv.conf and set it to read-only and reboot the server.
