Right, I’ve now only got access to FREEPBX control panel @
http://192.168.0.200:8081/admin/config.php on my existing box, no longer do I have trixbox GUI access.

I’ve still noted it’s not as easy to translate all the settings from Trix to FreePBX, however I’ll give it a go.

Is there a way I can upgrade the freePBX on trixbox to 2.9, install the backup module, run a backup, format my drive and re-install freePBX, and then restore the backup?

If not, I’ll bite the bullet and go ahead.

Please am new to this freepbx stuff, i just install an asteriskNow Distro , and was assign the IP 192.168.245.138 but i want to change the IP to something like 192.168.4.138 can someone assist.

Having said that here’s how to change your IP. (Thanks to Igordiv)
Go to the local machine running FreePBX
Login as :root
Password: <the password you used when you installed FreeBPX)

Type the next several lines
cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
sudo nano ifcfg-eth0 (that’s a zero, not the letter O)
hit the key

Use the arrow to move around on the page to get to where your IP is listed. Using backspace delete “dhcp” and replace it with “none” hit the key

Type the following lines
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
IPADDR=192.168.4.138 (or whatever IP you need)
GATEWAY=192.168.4.1 (again… use your router gateway address)

Hit the +O key (the letter O this time, not zero)
Hit again (saves the file)
Hit +X to exit the text editor

Back at the command line again# enter the following text
Service network restart

The card will shut down and restart. It will now have the new IP.

Tony left you a message. Please be clear that it will take between 2-3 hours not two thirds of an hour.

Once the account has a credit balance the work can be scheduled.
