CentOS 6, 64 bit (x86_64)

Good day,

I have installed CentOS 6 64 bit on a Rhino Pbx appliance and I would like to get freepbx installed. However, it appears that 64 bit version of CentOS 6 is not supported.

Is it possible to get 64 bit support for freepbx?

Here is the error received:
http://yum.freepbxdistro.org/pbx/1.8.x.x/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - “The requested URL returned error: 404”

Blessings,

FreePBX does not have any binary code and does not care about the system word size. It runs fine on 64 bit systems.

I have not personally tried it but I do know folks have CentOS 6 running.

Thanks.

However there are no pbx packages for 64 bit systems. please see the error below.

http://yum.freepbxdistro.org/pbx/1.86.29.55/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - “The requested URL returned error: 404”

That is because we do not have a 64bit Distro. Those packages are for the FreePBX Distro. You will need to pull down the tarball of FreePBX and install it manually.

I should have caught that…sorry.

why does freepbx not have a repository for the new version of CentOS 6, hasn’t it been more than 6 months? Please help us, all this untaring and extracting and not knowing what version, please keep up with the times. Thanks

FreePBX GUI distributes as a tar ball only so it is agnostic to all flavors of linux.

The FreePBX Distro project at this time has installs for Centos 5.7 and 5.8

It runs perfectly on 64-bit Centos 6.2. I’m running it fine!

Just pull down the tarball and follow these guidelines (even though this is for Centos 5.5 the steps are the same).
