Hi all, thanks for your time in reading this.
I set up my system and everything works well except when I dial into another service (like conference calling with GoToMeeting) where I must enter my pin followed by a pound sign. When I do this, it does not register - BUT if I press the pound sign a second time (after waiting 1 sec after the first time I pressed #) it seems to work. Any idea of what is going on here? I have replicated this on both of my phones (Grandstream and Aastra) so I believe it is related to my phone server. Thanks for any pointers…

When I first used my Snom phones, I had a similar problem - the PBX would not recognize the # dtmf. I had to upgrade to the latest Snom firmware and it fixed the problem.
Hi, I was able to resolve this on my Grandstream GPX2000 by changing the DTMF Send method to “in audio” (the other two options, 1. via RTP(rfc2833) 2. via SIP INFO did not work.)
My Aastra 9480i phones do not have this option. It has 1. RTP, 2. SIP INFO, 3. BOTH - which I tried all three to no avail. I am currently set at SIP INFO.
Does anyone know what the equivilent of “in audio” is on the Aastra 9480i?
thanks.
I was able to get the most recent firmware installed on my Aastra 9480i phones but the problem persists. Still no progress on the softphone either (xlite). This must have some solution at the server level but don’t know where to start. thanks.
Hi, it’s been a while and this is still an issue for me. I have installed a second server and the dtmf problem persists. I cannot get xlite or Aastra 9480i SIP phones to successfully pass dtmf. My Grandstreams work fine if I set dtmf method to ‘in-audio’ which is not an option on the other phones. Please help if you can. Thanks!
If I take my server and carry it to another building and plug it in with their IP address, gateway, dns, etc. and then connect to it from my office over the Internet, the dtmf works. So, it appears that it’s the network my server is on (?).
Oh My Gosh. It is working and here is how I fixed it. My server was plugged into the same Netgear 24-port switch as all of my phones. I moved the servers connection off of the switch and onto one of the available ports on my Linksys/cisco wireless router. Prior to this, I only had one line going from the wireless router to the linein on the 24port switch. Now, one to the switch and one to the asterisk server. Hope this helps someone else out there…
My problem came back after my server was restarted. So moving it did not fix it permanently. Now I have disabled the “force rfc2833” checkbox in the Aastra config and they seem to be working.
