Cannot call local extensions

Hello, I downlaoded the latest stable version of freepbx distro and installed it. I used the latest version of asterisk. I also installed the aastra xml scripts via yum install aastra-xml-scripts. I have a lot of stuff set up with ring groups, ivr, inbound routes based on did, outbound routes to three different trunks.

After getting everything set up perfectly, I thought to try and call another local extension. the aastra xml script says that the person is available but it just pauses (does not ring)… then it goes to the dialtone after about 5-10 seconds.

What I see on the server is that asterisk and java are consuming all available cpu and that this message gets repeated in the log/console repeatedly:

[2014-03-03 21:53:36] VERBOSE[4645][C-00000001] pbx.c: – Goto (sub-presencestate-display,s-,1)
[2014-03-03 21:53:36] WARNING[4645][C-00000001] func_presencestate.c: PRESENCE_STATE unknown
[2014-03-03 21:53:36] VERBOSE[4645][C-00000001] pbx.c: – Executing [s-@sub-presencestate-display:1] Goto(“SIP/102-00000001”, “s-,1”) in new stack

so far I haven’t been able to find any clues or solutions by searching for this warning message.

I uninstalled the aastra xml, and it didn’t make any difference.

I can call ring groups and I can transfer calls to local extensions. The problem is that I cannot call a local extension directly.

Thank you for your assistance!
