Can not connect to database

hi every body

i just installed asterisk , php ,mysql , phpmyadmin , apache server and at last freePBX

its my first time to install this server

during installing freePBX i get this error

Connecting to database…FAILED
Try running ./install_amp --username=user --password=pass (using your own user and pass)
[FATAL] Cannot connect to database

and if there is a specific configuration i have to do please give me help

Did you build the database and grant permissions before running install_amp?

i get some commands but none of it work

i am working under ubuntu 10.04 and use the last stable version of asteridk and freePBX

please tell me the correct command

Ubuntu is not a core supported OS, we only test on CentOS.

“Please give me help” is not a question.

Keep in mind we don’t know if those directions are correct and we have no knowledge if you followed the directions correctly.

If you are unfamiliar with OS installs we suggest you use our ISO based installer that installs CentOS, Asterisk, FreePBX and all required support software.

i am almost familiar with OS and i get the problem its in my mysql root user

and what about that ISO please give me info about it

its name or an URL to download or research

if i installed that ISO on a VPS and i wanted to add a specific service would this available or not
