Can I set the DND or follow me using an email or similar

I’m looking for a way to get my home automation system to change the DND or follow-me status on my extension. I have a home office setup with a phone tied into my office PBX. I’d like to trigger either the DND on my home extension or the follow-me on my work extension based on if I’m home or not. My automation system (Home Assistant) can send SMS, email, IFTTT, and I’m sure other triggers. Will FreePBX accept any outside trigger that would change the DND or Follow-Me status?

I know nothing about Home Assistant, but will this script by Lorne Gaetz work for you?

Test that you can set or unset DND from the FreePBX command line.

Next, test that you can use ssh to run the command from the HA command line.

Set up RSA authentication so HA can access FreePBX without a password.

Set up HA to issue the appropriate ssh command programmatically, when you arrive or leave home.
