Can anyone tell me how to send a Flash hook to a PSTN Gateway

Hi everyone! I’m running FreePBX 2.8 with Asterisk 1.4, which came from the AsteriskNOW iso. I’m using an SPA3102 as my PSTN Gateway (although I’m willing to switch to anything that will do what I need).

I’m looking for a way to send a flash hook to the PSTN Gateway from an extension. I found some older instructions on how to modify asterisk config files to send a flash hook from an extension by pressing *0, but those only appear to work on a Zap trunk, and not on a PSTN gateway running through the ethernet.

Since the SPA3102 has a specific setting in the PSTN tab for the flash interval, I assume it’s capable of sending a flash hook. I just need to figure out how to get Asterisk/FreePBX to send it.

I know it has been a while, but were you ever able to get this figured out?

Nope. I ended up switching over to SIP Trunking for most of my calls. I maintain a basic POTS line with no optional services (i.e. no call waiting, no 3-way) for emergency calls like 911, and for local calls.
