Callback implementation help?

Can any one explain to me the function of Callback in freepbx? and how to set it? I tried so many times but still cannot get it work. My trixbox is updated from trixbox 1

It just calls you back at the number you setup and does what ever you program

go to the callback listed in the module admin and double click it and set it up via the guide for ruby
and you should be Good to go

where is the ruby guide found at is this encluded in trixbox?

OK I do not understand what you are saying…

and yes the callback module is in FREEPBX but it is broke it the trixBox build (I guess it is everyone asks this question)…

nothing is in TRIXBOX as TRIXBOX is nothing but a bunch of install scripts…which just install others programs drivers and so on.

As someone said they can callback with Trixbox 1.2. Is it true? I used ruby before but still cannot do the callback call.

I am having a problem with callback too. I have TB 1.2.2 and I tried to setup the callback feature. I tried it with a blank space and I tried it with a phone number with and without a “#” after the number. In all cases the system just gives me a busy signal. I then followed the instructions to load ruby 1.8.5 in my case and then followed the instructions to download and “install” the script.

Even after installing the script I get a busy signal. Then I thought of rebooting pbx. After reboot no change, I still get a busy signal.

In my dial plan I go directly from inbound route to callback.

In case there was a problem with DID, I changed inbound route to send it to local extension and it worked fine, so I reset the call back and yet again a busy signal!

What would you suggest I do?

Sorry follow on question. I would like to setup a call back for someone who is long distance from me. I understand that there is no way through the GUI to prepend a “1” but is there a way to do so by way of modifications to dial plan?
