My best guess is that I set it up before they started blocking it by default but that’s just a guess based on it having worked until I rebooted it late last year. I use Linode for most of my other servers but they didn’t have an option for freepbx or using my own ISO at that time and I wish they would start blocking SMTP on new servers (Our mailserver keeps ending up on the UCLProtect list (because it’s part of the IP block) and It’s not worth paying to have it excluded).
