Call duration issue

there is a strange thing happening with the recordings on freepbx,
the actual call length differs from the displayed call length of all the recordings.
e.g if a called number is having a call duration of 40 seconds then the actual call recorded is only 7 to 10 seconds

asterisk version is 13.29.2, i also tried with downgrading the asterisk version to 11.25 but of no use.


can anyone help me on this.

The showed duration is the time from right after dialling until you hang up. Your recording seems to start when the other party answers your call.

in the CDR’s there is both ‘billsecs’ and ‘duration’ fields, check (and bill) calls against ‘billsecs’ not ‘duration’.
