Main lesson is that I couldn’t upload direct to the Restore page from the local computer (through the import tab) but had to copy it into var/spool/asterisk/backup via Filezilla and find it through the Browse tab,
Don’t think I had to do that before.

I don’t think that actually works in FreePBX 13 or 14. There are several posts here on this issue, and probably a few reports on issues.freepbx.org
And before you know, that might even be a PHP upload restriction issue which you can fix on your own.
Well, you can probably tell I’m not much chop with the deeper technical aspects of this. The incredible thing is that even so, with the help of this forum I have been able to get a system working in a way that (most of the time) keeps the receptionists and staff happy, or at least unawares of what is going on. That’s all you can ask of life, really.
