I am a lawyer, not a phone man or tech guy, who has been using FreePPX since the Trixbox days. Thanks to all of you for sustaining such a great product.
Until a few months ago, Backups and Updates were working flawlessly. I had Daily, Weekly and Monthly Backups configured to store in local and remote sites. Updates were automatic on Saturday mornings at 2 am. Email confirmations went out.
Then it all stopped.
No more automatic backups, no more automatic updates.
If I run a backup manually, it works and it SAYS that it sends an email… But it LIES!.. I do not get an email. Same thing for updates. Manual updates work fine… But does not send an email.
I went to system admin —> email setup, and used the “debug” button to send an email to same address as the backups and the updates use, and it worked fine. I think it is laughing at me…
This is definitely not a major problem, but it is a headache and if it’s possible to fix it, I would like to do so. It’s not worth the $400/hr to me to pay for Sangoma customer service, but I would be happy to $100 to anyone who knows what they’re doing to take a look at it.
run the backup process during which the email should be generated while tailing the mail log , do you see an attempt ?
assuming your job is set to email for both success and failure when the backup completes the mail log will show the email notification attempt similar to below:
