Automatic Module updates not working

I have two FreePBX systems - one test and one production. They are both configured to automatically check for updates, notify by email, apply and confirm by email. This works faultlessly on the test system but never on the production system. I cannot find out why the difference. Both systems are identical apart from some variation in endpoints - indeed I recall that I cloned the production system from test about 9 months ago. Anyone got any advice where to look for the difference.

It may be related to this, the mirrors currently having issues:

Just to add, the mirrors have been unstable two Saturdays in a row. Change the day the automated updates happens and see if you have more luck, bearing in mind most people will choose Sunday as the alternative day and that may get busy too. If that’s the reason why.

EDIT: Question for @penguinpbx :person_raising_hand:
The email notification states “The automated upgrade was aborted, and will be automatically retried in the future”. Does this mean in an hour, in a day, or we’ll try at the same time next week?

It is the default day, so, yeah, pretty busy:

Looks that way… that code block exits on failure without rescheduling:

Instead it jumps to the object destructor which then sends out the email:

Thanks Chris. @GrahamRHK, I updated 10x v16 without issues between 08:00 and 14:00 GMT on Sunday (yesterday). Change the day and see if it solves it. @penguinpbx’s reply pretty much confirms what I was saying.

Thanks for the advice. I tried manually on Saturday and nothing worked. I tried again on Sunday and updates installed correctly. I have set the auto update to Sunday and will see what happens. I notice that my test system has always been set to Sunday and has always worked.

Good news, thanks for letting us know. Don’t forget to Apply Config, even after automated updates. It does not reload Asterisk by itself.

Good news. Auto Update worked last Sunday and notification emails arrived. Solved! Thank for advice
