Hello,

Can anybody help me with the required configurations needed to route a call from an extension connected to
an Asterisk server to an external number from a GSM network?

You mean to call a cell phone from your Asterisk extension?

… or do you mean connect Asterisk to your cell phone and call out through that?

… or do you mean add a GSM Interface and connect a trunk to a cell phone number?

You need to setup an account with a sip trunk provider.
