I’ll take 100 years in my face by the way! 
It looks like the developers have acted on my ticket to allow Asterisk 20 in Freepbx16. When time allows, I will update from the edge repository and report back.
FreePBX 16 now accepts Asterisk 20 when the Framework module is updated to Framework v16.0.21.21 from the Edge repository.
