Asterisk died with code 1 && (does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)

Hello!
I reinstalled asterisk 1.4.19.1~dfsg-1 using the package of a debian sid distribution.
Asterisk alone seemed to work fine, then I installed freepbx, and now nothing is working, when I “amportal start” it says:
Asterisk ended with exit status 1
Asterisk died with code 1.
Automatically restarting Asterisk.
and if I try asterisk -r I get
Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)

Now, I have tried, and looking the log I solved all the problems I could, but, although no errors I get a few warning…nothing justifies this situation though…

I was thinking it could be some problems with file permissions??, this is
ls -l /var/run/asterisk
srwxrwx— 1 asterisk asterisk 0 2008-05-21 17:44 asterisk.ctl
-rw-rw---- 1 asterisk asterisk 5 2008-05-21 17:44 asterisk.pid

I pasted here logs of "messages"
http://pastebin.ca/1024910
and “debug” :
http://pastebin.ca/1024912
The’re both short, and I don’t now what to try anymore!!!1
Thankz a lot

Running Debian Etch, ast 1.4.20 fpbx 2.4.0 exact same problems… randomly stops working
hwclock on debian etch is broken I have to do hwclock --directisa to keep time, would this have an effect?
tail /var/log/asterisk/full gives an error about asterisk shutting down due to zaptel problems…

Freepbx and everything works great, install went smoothly, asterisk just seems to crash at random

I think it’s a problem of something not loading good…also with mysql maybe…anyway
I finally opted for a reinstall and used this super good tutorial!
http://www.queret.net/blog/index.php/2008/03/31/108-asterisk-freepbx-on-debian-etch
it’s in french, but you can just go at the end, download and lunch the 3 scripts in order…they work perfectly and solve a lot of issues…cause freepbx, ‘install_amp’ has many problems with directory and stuff (maybe ony on debian…who knows) but this solves most of directory problem, linking, compling…
just in case you don’t wanna do it immediately, try looking in /etc/amportal.conf if directories are all right (like /var/run/asterisk ) and so on…maybe youu can solve it there

About the 3 scripts on queret.net, i juste make a new automated installation script at this page : http://www.queret.net/blog/index.php/2008/08/13/124-asterisk-freepbx-sur-debian-etch-installation-script-v03

You have a french and a english version.
