Nice!

So where do I download it, then?

Asterisk 16 was released today. So you can download it directly from asterisk.org if you want to get the tar ball source. It will be about a week (maybe sooner/longer) before it’s in the Sangoma repos.

As for FreePBX 15, it is still in the Alpha stage and can be found here: FreePBX 15 Alpha Now Available for Testing for how to get it installed.

Thanks! Just not mentioned in the release that FreePBX is in alpha, beta or production. Maybe should put that in there.

It’s been in the Sangoma repos since last week. Yum install sangoma-devel

That’s great to hear. I was told that it would be about the same as any other release so once it was out it would be available usually within the week in the repo.

After installing sangoma-devel and upgrading asterisk-version-switch on SNG7:

So is it the latest RC or the stable that was released today?

As of now it’s 16.0.0.0 rc3

Hrm, it’s been a while since I’ve run an RC version of Asterisk, but shouldn’t asterisk -V kick out that it’s RC3 at the end?

I was going by the numbering on the rpm:

[root@pbx ~]# yum list asterisk16
Installed Packages
asterisk16.x86_64 16.0.0-rc3.sng7 @sng7-testing

when will be available new distro on download page: freepbx[dot]org/downloads ? FreePBX 14 • Asterisk 13 or 15

A long time for distro installation to have it during installation time. You can just install from the distro now and switch to 16 using the binary asterisk-version-switch. Run it from the cli to change asterisk versions on the fly
