I want for an outbound route to an old pbx the # sign to be appended at the end of the dialed number. Can you pls help with the dial pattern to make this work?

The only way I can think of to do this is with custom dialplan. Use the context macro-dialout-trunk-predial-hook. If you enable Noop Traces in advanced settings, the channel variable OUTBOUND_ROUTE_NAME will be set to the route name.
