Another upgrade, another debacle

If I can add something. for fax issues, it’s happening when there is some problems on the local network or SIP provider.
Need to check the QoS, and manage this one everywhere on the LAN (switch, router).
Put the VoIP on a specific VLAN, and not on the same VLAN for Data.

Just an idea like that.

I didn’t say that.

What I did say is that over nearly ten years, we’ve not completed a single upgrade, using the backup/restore process or the in-place upgrade, that resulted in a fully functional system. Both processes are broken and have been for ages.

Ho ok.

I have restored numerous machines using Backup/Restore and outside of issues with how big a backup was (thus having the use the CLI) I’ve had no real issues with this process. If every time you’re doing a Backup/Restore and it fails, there’s something else going on and would need to look at it a lot closer. And I have restored from v15 and v16 to v17 at this point. But had no issues when upgrading to v16 in the past from older versions.

One thing to do at least before migrating to another version, just do modules update and launch a backup. Yes,sometimes it doesn’t work as expected through the GUI.
