[Amportal-users] FOP not working?

Hi list!

I have been running AMP / FreePBX for some time and never bothered even
looking at FOP because I didn’t need it.

I would like to have a look at it but I’m not sure how it works, I guess
my setup is not working.

When I open FOP all extensions are simply flashing alternating green/red
and nothing is happening.

I did not find any specific instructions to setup FOP in the FreePBX
installation instructions, neither is there some module to configure it?

Do I need to do anything to get it working? Any pointer in the right
direction really appreciated.

Cheers!
Remco

Aaarghhh!! That was it, I never would have guessed that even though FOP is
running on the webserver it needs a seperate port to be open in the
firewall. It is working perfectly now!!!

Many thanks for the tip!!!

Cheers!

The important configuration parameters for communications are in
/var/www/panel/op_server.cfg.

Nothing is configured on the Flash client. Make sure that port 4445
(default) is accesible from the outside to the asterisk box.

Also, check on asternic, as there is a mailing list devoted to FOP and
Nicolas Gudiño personally answers any doubts there.

Jorge

First of all the scripts op_server.pl and safe_opserver did not have
chmod a+x set, so I corrected that.

I checked the config files and everything looks ok, when I set debug
level to 1 as suggested on the FOP site I also get some output that would
suggest it is working and when I set debug level even higher I can
also see events that are waiting to be sent to the flash client.

But still nothing changes in the web browser, just the flashing :frowning:

I guess the flash applet is not talking to the server, the docs on
asternic do not state how / where you can configure the flash applet…

Could the problem be in Apache or anywhere else?

Thanks!!

It is fairly simple. FOP is a Flash app. that communicates with the FOP
server running on the asterisk box.
When you see the leds flashing, either the FOP app is not
communicating/authenticating with the FOP server, the FOP server is not
running, or the FOP server is not communicating/authenticating with the
Asterisk server.
