[Amportal-devel] Re: Amportal-devel digest, Vol 1 #507 - 16

I could add it to the Wiki as a feature request:)

It’s all a matter of prioirty. I still have my mind on doing a real Find Me function, with the ability for the user to edit their own settings in a portal (like ARI) as well as set schedules for where they can be reached when, etc. So that is probably higher when I find the time. (And I think this is fairly simple other than the GUI work, and I’m not really a GUI type so what I really need to do is find someone who wants to do that part…)

Rob, Diego,

How about the following suggestion:

Add something to general (or appropriate module) that let’s the user select the IP address (and the rest of the message for that matter) - in which case you are probably talking a voicemail module, where you can also set voicemail defaults, formats, etc. You can create a menu out of the available addresses as well as let them have a write in for the address. If they never set anything up - you can just use a default message like “go get on your admin’s case for not setting anything up as you can’t get to your email until they do:)”

Nice idea, would you like to implement?

I probably need to do something about check what interface the default
route is on, then do an ifconfig and grab the IP address of that (as
it’s pretty likely that the interface that the default route is on will
have a valid IP address)
