Are there any advantages or disadvantages to installing FreePBX distro on a RAID 1 or 5 solution? We have had PBXinaFlash on a non-RAID system for many years, but not having a RAID solution opens the door to hard drive crash disasters.
I am looking at re-purposing a Dell PowerEdge 2650 with PERC 3/Di RAID controller in RAID1 configuration to run a new installation, but I’m not sure if this will affect the quality of our calls (with RAID controller overhead). We have roughly 100 phones in the company.
Anyone have experience with this?
